Skin Needling has been proven to increase collagen production to reduce wrinkles and resurface the skin to achieve plumper and more youthful skin.
Who is this treatment for?
Any skin tone, type or condition can be treated.
What conditions does this treat?
Acne scarring is the most popular condition for Skin Needling. However, we can treat scarring of any kind (including stretch marks) on the face or body. We are able to treat:
- fine lines and wrinkles
- skin rejuvenation
- active inflammatory acne
- enlarged pores
- acne scarring
- all scarring including stretch marks
- excessive sebum secretion
- thin, aged and sun-damaged skin
How does it feel?
Some patients describe the treatment as slightly uncomfortable, however we do provide our patients with topical anaesthetic to ensure they are as comfortable as possible. The discomfort is described mostly as a mild sting.
Is it safe?
Skin Needling is tried and tested to provide reliable, excellent results with the least amount of downtime or side affects as possible.
Is there downtime?
Downtime depends on skin type and condition – initial redness mostly subsides within the first hour, but can take 24 hours for some. Some patients also develop some swelling which can also take 24 hours to subside. After the treatment, you must be very careful to not touch your face with unclean hands, towels or product (including make up). However, there are no sun or activity restrictions.
When will I see a result?
Results can be seen within 7-10 days, post treatment depending on the condition and age of the patient.
The number of recommended treatments depends on the skin concerns being treated. Acne treatments require 3-6 treatments; preventative treatments for youthful skin may only require one treatment per year as upkeep after the initial 3 treatments.
